Making the Family Work

week 5/8-5/12 In the world When asked the question "are all cultures equally valid" our automatic response is yes! we say yes to make ourselves seem accepting of other or that's what we think other people want to hear. but if we actually take the time to think about that question I honestly think that not all cultures are valid, I think that if we look at these various cultures through God's eyes then not even our own culture is valid because Satan has a huge influence on the world and often times we change laws and procedures based on his influence, for example how drugs are legal or the US government making gay marriage legal. these things go against God’s law both because violate the commandments that the Lord put in place to guide us to make good decisions. Even though the validity of various culture can change person to person, the way they go about running the country can still be effective based on how they do it, if they use a democratic way then the way...

Each family is very different and they all have different systems that makes them work or in some cases not work. Within each of these systems there are rules, like in my family we weren’t allowed to get a cell phone until we were 14 and when we were older we had a curfew of midnight. These rules might have seemed outrageous at the time but these were put in place to make sure my siblings and I would know how to follow rules and make sure we are safe. There are many family systems that work for that family and only that family, it is hard for others to see how a family works without either being close to that family or being in it. Throughout history parent have used negative feedback while punishing their kids like if their kid does something that they don’t like, instead of correcting the behavior. In the world today there are many trends. A trend is defined as a general direction in which something has developed or is developing as well as changing. we see these trends in all aspects of our lives whether it be the trends on social media or the trends on fashion. The trends of the world also have an impact on the family.They include, not getting married until you're older and when you are married you wait to have kids till both spouses are well established in their careers and can financially support their future children. These trends have many impacts on the family, if parents are waiting to have kids then that can impact the way the kids are raised because they have less time to spend with their kids because they are working or just don't have the energy to play with them, often times these parents will rely on technology as a “babysitter” because it can entertain them for hours on end.
