Financing

For years the man of the house has always been the breadwinner of the family and the woman keeps the house running smoothly. This has worked fairly well when the family works together and has good communication, part of this communication is talking about money and how/where it is going to be spent. Planning out a budget as a couple is a great way to avoid confrontation with in the marriage when it comes to money, this budgeting helps to track where to money is going and where it should be going. It is really easy to filter all our thinking through money as a sense of power but if you know where the money will be going than you can focus on other things as a couple.

It is also important to teach your kids the importance of money skills so that they can learn to be smart with it early and they can avoid the headache of debt and other things like that. Along with teaching them money skills, we need to be teaching them the importance of working for their money outside the home. We shouldn't pay kids to do things around the home because they can develop a sense of entitlement for doing things that are just basic contributions. Teaching kids to do hard things helps them to become bonded with each other as well as their parents because they can work through things together and work towards a common goal.
